Diamond Corrugated operates from an 80,000 sq.ft. manufacturing and warehousing
facility in the city of Derry, North West of Ireland. Packaging has been in the
Diamond family for 3 generations and with over 70 years steeped in the packaging
tradition they remain a privately owned company. They offer a unique and complete
packaging service from initial enquiry right through to order fulfilment. A team
of experienced and highly skilled professionals combines with advanced systems and
equipment to ensure total customer satisfaction.
Diamond Corrugated has recently installed the latest KM Series 6 cutting table and
are now benefitting from the added value it allows them to offer current and potential
customers. They manufacture eye-catching shelf ready packaging as well as the more
traditional and conventional corrugated box. The design aspect of their business
is becoming increasingly important in the context of the challenging design demands
of the current retail environment. All Manufacturing is carried out to the highest
standards illustrated by their ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BRC / I0P accreditations.
They are also on track for ISO 18001 achievement before the end of 2009.
In the past, samples for customers would have been produced by die forme suppliers,
which would take several days. With the installation of KASEMAKE design software
and a KM626A cutting table, Diamond have brought pre-press control ‘in-house’ not
only giving the customer the benefit of upgrading to a faster and more efficient
sample / design service, but allowing the company’s designers time to develop their
ideas to efficiently achieve the most effective solutions. “It was essential for
us to find a better solution than waiting for samples from a third party.” Terence
McGilligan, Technical Manager explains, “After some research into what was available,
we found AG/CAD to be the best value for money, offering first-class package at
an affordable cost. This investment has enhanced not only our design capabilities
and customer service, but has also saved us the extra cost and time involved with
using an external sample / design source.”
Paul Diamond MD explains, “With our investment with the KASEMAKE software and KM626A
Cutting Table, we are able to provide an improved service facility to our customers.
Our customers recognise the importance of quality design and service, never more
so than in today’s economic climate. Continuous improvement of both quality and
service is top of our agenda and the installation of the KASEMAKE system is further
evidence of that commitment. Over the past 3 years, investments have been made in
all areas of the company from converting equipment to staff training. Our success
as a company is based on a team based approach and total commitment to excellence.
To continue and expand on this success we need to invest wisely in technology and
equipment and the installation of the KASEMAKE system has proved to be a very sound
decision.”
